Les and Jane Jones have celebrated 10 years as proprietors of Bradeney House on the 19th of February.

When they acquired Bradeney House it was sad and tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. The couple are delighted with how far Bradeney House has come in this time. The home has been completely transformed into a 101 bedded comfortable friendly hotel for the elderly.

Initially, there were only 36 occupants and Les and Jane have worked their way through the home improving the original facilities and adding stylish living spaces and luxury bedroom. The renovation work first started in May 2007, but it was December 2009 Bradeney House was granted permission to extend to 101 beds.

It was always the couple’s dream to create a care village comprising of the main care home and luxury assisted living bungalows all with solid wood kitchens and doors, luxury granite worktops, large wet rooms, Nurse call linked to the main house along with burglar alarms, fire alarms and underfloor heating with landscaped gardens.

Les has worked tirelessly with architects, builders and the planning department to produce an astatically pleasing development.

Staff, visitors and neighbours have seen Bradeney House grow into what it is today. It’s been a very exciting journey.

Bradeney House now has the very latest in biomass, solar panels for energy and our own borehole for water. Les has given great consideration to being environmentally friendly.

The couple are very passionate about the care their residents receive. They acknowledge that this couldn’t happen without fantastic support from both staff and families.

Bradeney House has a well-being team that deliver activities with the support of care staff, we have had visits from Rupert the horse who joins us in our lounge for a pat and a cuddle to the animal man who brings spiders and snakes.

Plans are underway to develop the rear garden with a bandstand and paving that extends the walkway around the building. Sensory gardens with an array of fragrant flowers will add to the delight of the outside space.

Bradeney House uniquely has its own band of professional musicians who give up their time to support Les Jones (homeowner) to raise money for local charities (mainly the Bridgnorth Lions).

The band have toured many Shropshire care homes giving them two sets free of charge.

Roger – Lead Guitar

Alan Morley (Drums) was a founder member of the Red Caps in 1963 and then Chicken Shack in the 1970’s he played with many famous musicians during his career. Paul Sunday (Bass Guitar) met Alan many years ago and has a wealth of experience.

Bradeney House is pet-friendly registered and has been a member of the Cinnamon Trust for many years. Residents are able to bring their beloved animals with them avoiding having to part from their pets at this already difficult time. Currently, there are five cats residing at Bradeney.

Bradeney Pavillion is a purpose-built activity centre to the east of Bradeney House for assisted living bungalows consisting of a lounge area with kitchen facilities, craft room and landscaped gardens. The Pavillion has a hospitality suite for visitors to the bungalows. There is a nominal cost for the use of this facility and the proceeds go to the community fund.

Les completed Bradeney Village purchasing Trinity cottage in the grounds for further expansion. Trinity cottage used to be a part of Bradeney House but was sold off many years ago.

Les and Jane being locals have a great affinity with people in the area and are delighted to be able to give something back to the community.
